The “Focusing Hour”
What you think about most of the time is what you become.
What you think about at the beginning of the day is the most important part of you day!
Here is my personal “Kick Start” for the day.
Exercise it doesn’t have to be high impact and lengthy. Fifteen to twenty minutes of walking on a treadmill, cycling, callanetics or even some sit-ups and push-ups to get the heart rate up and the blood flowing. Exercise doesn’t have to be long and hard to benefit the body; recent studies show that fifteen to twenty minute low impact workouts are just as beneficial if not more, than longer harder workouts. So there is really no excuse for not exercising.
Start you day right.
Take at least twenty to thirty minutes in the morning to think about your goals and objectives. Read a good motivational magazine, or book. Biographies are great because most of the successful people you read about had to start right at the bottom. Many of whom had an early start on the day, so they could spend some “me-time” in organizing their thoughts and attitudes.
Feed your mind with positive Ideas.
This is what I would call the “focusing-hour” the next thirty to sixty minutes is going to set the tone for the rest of the day. The first hour of the morning will prepare your mind, your body as well as your spirit for the tasks and challenges for the entire day. Spend time going over your goals and objectives, review them, adjust plans accordingly, and prepare your mind to be able to slip into a positive frame.
Use the time you have effectively.
Affirmations are an integral part of creating a fertile and accepting mind. Positive affirmations about being healthy, wealthy and successful are paramount to strengthening self-esteem. The most amazing thing about affirmations is, they don’t affect our conscious minds as much as our sub-conscious; this is where the true self is prepared and presented to the world. Using affirmations condition our sub-conscious self into accepting the fact that we are healthy, wealthy and successful. It’s not long before we start acting as such, attracting confidence and success like a magnet.
Think of creative ways to achieve your goals for today, do something a little different, exciting and out of the box to tone down the monotonous and boring.
Reflection is also a very good way to enforce discipline and focus for the day. Reflect on what you have learned and are learning as you move toward your goals. Reflect on past successes and how you felt at that moment, what were others saying about achievements and what did it do for your future.
Visualize achieving your goals and objectives for the day. Calmly close your eyes, breath in deeply and slowly exhale, relax and deliberately focus on the success of the day, see yourself closing that deal, smiling and being focused and purposeful, feel the excitement and the adrenalin as you seal the order with a firm handshake.
All of what we have spoken about here has a way of building up and developing your belief system, until you finally reach the point where you are so convinced, that there is nothing that can stop you from achieving your goals.
Mastering one’s self is the secret to success. Once you are able to master the way you think, you become a very attractive and powerful magnet for creative opportunities of health, wealth and success.
